The truth is that I spent very little time on the jumpseat while we were not specifically told to stay in our seats. I liked interacting with passengers, even if just a nod of the head that told me they were OK and didn't need anything.
I'm not one to sit around on the jumpseat. I just don't trust that area between coach and first or under any seat. We have a f/a who had someone go through her tote bag while she was out in the aisle and her bag was under the last row of coach. Probably took it into the lav to go through it and drop it off on the way out. Just because it has a crew tag on it doesn't make it off limits to thieves.
Heck a few months ago I something stolen from me in the CLT bag room!
