I am planning to travel to Costa Rica on New Year's Day for about a week. Arriving late on a Friday night I am currently thinking of staying three nights in San Jose and then 4 in Quepos and 1 back in SJO before returning.

I was thinking of doing a day trip from San Jose one day and touring the town another, but it sounds like San Jose is not much worth seeing, perhaps I should head down to the coast after only two nights in the capital. Does anyone have any comments? this would allow for a tour of some kind on Saturday..

Interested in the nature part of Manuel Antonio Area as well as other sights, but I don't want it to be the only thing in CR that I see.

Any comments with recent info would be appreciated....
