+1 on this point. As general rule of thumb travel to anywhere, don't flaunt expensive articles in crowded area, put your wallet in the front pocket rather than you back pocket,etc. Pickpocket in HKG is no better/worse than any place I've been to. I did witness a pickpocketer one time in Mong Kok Computer center couple years ago. The funny thing was this occurred inside one of those bootleg software/movie shop. The pickpocketer was taken outside by couple of their "employee" to the back ally afterward.
