Does it though? It adds to the value of Gold over Silver...but net-net? They've both just been devalued I'd say - at least as far as the seating benefit goes. Pay for lounge access is on its way - same story (Flounge is now more valuable so Gold is even more useful than Silver...except where there is no Flounge and the whole system is devalued). Let me guess - paid for AlreadySoSlowIt'sAnInsultToCallItFast Track 'security and AlreadyHardlyEnforcedAsItIsEspeciallyWhenBussedSoI tDoesn'tOfferPriority boarding too? I think I'd rather they unpolished the discount TPs if it meant the tier benefits overall stayed more exclusive and useful.

Or they should find better ways of looking after and 'protecting' loyal customers in the current climate especially (and that includes the ones who are still managing to fly - this goes beyond comping people extended membership).
