Bringing forward this thread...
I just stayed at the Crowne Plaza Bangkok for two nights on a US$79 per night 'Great Rates' (breakfast included) rate.
It was my first ever stay at a non-Intercontinental property on my newly combined Six Continents Club / Platinum Priority Club card.
I arrived at the hotel at 5pm, but check-in was delayed because my 'upgraded' room as a Six Continents 'VIP' (their words, not mine) was 'not quite ready'.
I was given a drinks voucher for the lounge bar, then was given another drinks voucher five minutes later as the room was still not ready.
Ten minutes after I had arrived, I was escorted to the room - and the wait was well worth it!
A very spacious corner suite on the 20th floor - very nicely presented with fruit platter, mineral waters, welcome letter and all. Maybe the reason for the 'delay'?
Overall, I found this hotel to be well located, with a nice pool, good breakfast spread, and fairly decent location.
The service was pretty scatty, but I overlooked it for the quality and size of the room.
