The InterContinental Financial Street Beijing is a fine example of quality of service, attention to detail mixed with technology.

At the heart of the Financial District, the hotel is housed in a contemporary building of 25 floors.

The property is not immediately located downtown, considering that the center is Tiananmen Square (2 kilometers east of the hotel). But Beijing is a sprawling and multipolar city, and talking about any center probably has no real meaning. In addition, the Fu Cheng Men metro station is only few meters from the hotel, so you can reach easily the main points of the city.

Although bicycles are more rare than twenty years ago in the streets of Beijing, riding a bicycle is still an enjoyable way of exploring the city (however you should not be frightened by the idea of being in the continuous cars flow). Bicycles can be rented at the hotel for a small fee (less than 15 euros per day). A guide published by the hotel offers a selection of bike tours.

The Capital King Bed Suites are truly impressive in size (more than 90 square meters) and are luxuriously furnished. They comprise:
- A large living room with a table for dining room, a sofa and a large flat screen TV
- A spacious room with king size bed
- A beautiful bathroom featuring a large tub and separate shower.

Air conditioning and soundproofing are particularly effective.

Club Room guest have access to the Club InterContinental, which is very spacious and offers a wonderful selection of dishes throughout the day. The drinks are served for free by attentive staff. Internet PCs (laptop with wireless access) is available on request, but unfortunately does not have a printer (which can still be found in the large business center).

The hotel has a range of excellent restaurants. The breakfast, served in one of them, is truly excellent: an incredible variety and quality products are offered around several theme buffets (Chinese or European).

The hotel has also a beautiful pool and a fitness center offering the latest equipment.

The entire staff is extremely attentive.

In summary, for its excellent infrastructure and service, the InterContinental Financial Street Beijing is a very good choice for visiting the Chinese capital.

Some tips:
- To facilitate your arrival at the airport, I recommend the excellent limousine service offered by the hotel. A hostess will wait at the exit of the aircraft, escort you through immigration services, and will then take you to the car park where a luxurious Mercedes S-Class will wait for you. In the car, some drinks and refreshing towels are offered. Your chauffeur will take you smoothly to the hotel. Perfect for joining Beijing with confidence.
- Along Nanluogu Xiang are located a multitude of bars. Most of these friendly bar, housed in traditional preserved streets, offer in addition to drinks and simple meals, free wifi.
- Lane Crawford is one of the stores with the most advanced service in the world and an incredible selection of products. The Beijing branch is located two hundred meters from the hotel within the very selective (and desperately empty) New Seasons Place Mall.
- Take a drink on the terrace of the very fashionable Emperor hotel, the first member of the Design hotels chain in China. Lounge atmosphere and beautiful people, superb view towards the Forbidden City
- Taste the excellent quality of teas offered by the traditional lounge located in the delightful Zhonghan Gongyuan garden (prices are very high however)
- Sanlitun is not only the preferred bar area for expatriates but also a place with new remarkable architectural projects.
- Contemporary art lovers have to go to Dashanzi 978 Art District, located northeast of the city. In a former industrial site are hosted numerous contemporary art galleries, bookstores, bars and restaurants. An exhilarating journey into the contemporary China!
