Stayed at the RC Financial street. Not much to do in the area and a 15/20 minutes drive from Tienanmen.
The hotel is attached to a very upscale shopping mall ( Lance Crawford, Gucci, Hermes, etc..)
The property itself is really attractive, particularly the rooms and the Spa. We stayed in a deluxe room on the Club flooor. Rooms are very, very nice and well equipped.

Food presentations were ok but nothing extraordinary, Cannot comment on the breakfast since the lounge was closed early in the morning during the Xmas holidays. Free flow of Champagne but cannot remember the brand.
Service was hit and miss. Language barrier was a big problem. I remember trying to book a table at the Grand Hyatt's "Made in China" and the girl in the club lounge did not get a single word of waht I requested. She had to call a colleague in the lobby to help her out!!!!
Breakfast in the coffee shop was horrendous with large groups of starving Chinese tourists swarming the buffet.

I have stayed at the Peninsula before in an Executive suite and the service there is a million times better but of course the RC has better rooms/suites and Spa.

Saying that things might have improved since I stayed there 2 years ago.
