Comparing AIDS interventions and DHS

“The United States established the Department of Homeland Security, which one might call the ‘Department of Strengthening National Immunity’ in retrospect. Immune powers were conjured up everywhere. It became law to sort out the good from the bad newcomers at the borders, and to prevent foreign bodies from entering the organism. Efforts were intensified everywhere to find and remove germs that had already entered the organism.”

What is Medicine: Western and Eastern Approaches to Healing, Paul U Unschuld. University of California Press, 2009, p187.
