I for one would be interested in some international component if AS could negotiate it... an upgrade device from AA (Not sure DL's are worth anything)
I'm pretty confident that won't be happening- please note the DL reciprocal upgrades don't cover international flights, with good reason.
My feeling is AA's fee-for-"sticker"-based model for junior and midlevel elites just isn't viable with AS's model the same way NW was and DL is.
And correct, DL PMUs are Pretty Much Useless. You'd be better off finding a cheap Z fare on another airline.
The part where AS will get you a seat on ANY flight sounds pretty cool though (though I imagine it could be pretty expensive to sit in 30B).
