I stayed in April in The HI Singapore Parkview for 130 SGD$ a night and it was absolutely fine.
The vicinity was fine the rooms spaciuos and very beautiful decorated, wirelass high speed internet access for almost free (officially 25$SGD per 24h but i was able to surf 6 days with one u/pw :-) )
The bar is also very cute and the lobby unbelievable.
The only problem was the A/C that had only one setting: ICE-COLD
But it was the price/quality ratio that was so excellent because I would have to spend 500++$Sgd to get a reasonable better hotel (Westin Towers ..)
So I would defionitely stay there again.
However the HI where I landed because of desastrous weather in Miami South beach was only a bad joke - I have never seen such a tasteless decorated hotel and so incredible slow check in/out - it took more than 20(!) minutes to process each guest.
The initial walk in rate of $150 was also little steep but after the concierge saw my face expression was lowered to 119$.
On the next day I booked the same room for 79$ on the internet PC located in the lobby went over to the desk and told them my reservation number :-)
