This is right on. Aeroplan is no longer a FF program and no longer motivates or rewards flyers effectively, it does so for consumers generally as a loyalty program. It's ridiculous that I have more points from my credit card than I do from 61 flights this year.

I think AC really does need a FF program, Maybe they could call it Air Canada Plus...

Beyond that though, separate legal entities be damned, Aeroplan's (flight related) annoying business practices still reflect poorly on Air Canada. Why can't they program a web interface for selecting flights that doesn't let you just type in the flight #s you want. Or that easily shows all availability (like ANA does), or - and this is what really gets me - not charge us for doing things on the phone that are impossible online (without a fight, and even then...).

Edit: I admit the new interface is a lot better than the old one; I just wish it was better still (surely they had enough feedback).

I've been really impressed by the changes Air Canada has made in the past year, both in terms of service and attitude; I wish that could carry over to all of my Air Canadaesque experiences!
