Flew SFO - HKG F Class on 09/03 and then HKG to Bali on the 5th. HKG -Bali booked in Business Class since schedule showed a 777 2 class configuration.

First from SFO - HKG was very nice (second time we've done this flight). Only three passengers up front, excellent service. The suites are nice and comfortable, the bathrooms are big, food and drink choices were excellent.

When we got to the gate on the 5th for the Bali flight the aircraft had been changed to a 747. We tried to talk our way into first but found ourselves in a half full business class section. I found the Business Class pods confining and not all the comfortable (of course it's all relative, much better than the coach seats). Only a little over 4 hours flight time. Once again, great service, great friendly crew.

The only issue was the wait in immigration at the Bali airport. The Four Seasons warned us about 3 weeks before the trip that the expediting service that we had used in past had been shut down by the local authorities so it was 90 minutes of chaos before we got past immigration, collected our bags and headed for Sayan.

Return trip to HK was aboard the scheduled 2 class 777. For a four hour flight I much preferred the business class seats in the 777 rather than the pods of the 747. For an overnight flight the pod would likely be better.
