Well, I'd say at less than $40 for the Campmor one can't go very wrong. It is definitely on my shortlist for convertibles. I am not so much a backpack guy, so I don't want to be out $200 if I don't like it and the Campmor has the added benefit of being one of the lightest bags on the market period, convertible or not.

Really a pity for the smell. I am surprised they were unwilling to go to the warehouse and smell a bunch of bags to send you one without the defect. When was that? They might well have corrected the problem by now so that all batches are manufactured in the correct way now.

The Kipling Sherpa look A LOT like the Redoxx Gator.
