I was a window seat person all of my life until recently when I started traveling for work. So much so that my cousins remind me of the tantrums I used to throw as a kid when I didn't get the window seat - plane, train, car or bus.
I love to look out the window, and one of my favorite things to do when descending into ORD is to figure out where I am and pick out thinks like friend's homes, places I know, streets I am familiar with, etc. I love to look down in flight and try and pick out a city or town that I am flying over. I love to look at mountains and even picked out Vail and my favorite ski runs while flying over Colorado. Yes, I'm a dork....
With that said, now that I fly all the time, and usually short hops, I tend to pick an aisle seat up front in coach to expedite my departure from the plane. I also tend to have to use the lav more often than most (I drink alot of water) so I want to be considerate and not have to disturb people by having to get up several times in flight. On longer flights, I will pick a window seat, though.
