The other traffic law that I find very strange in the U.S. is that when you are turning right at a junction on a green light, you have to yield to crossing pedestrians. It just seems to alien & counterproductive to me, that you have a green light but yet have to let those people cross the road.

I guess though it is somewhat compensated by allowing traffic turn right on a red.

Still every time I go over the States & drive I find it hard to get used to.

since I am from a place where the life of pedestrians is ......well.......always at risk .......I find it very difficult to put my life into the hands of a guy that has a green light at a two ton vehicle........coming right at me...........

I don't care if I know that they are going to stop.....I just sprint away........(Because I know by now that if I just stand there........he/she is going to stop or get pissy or something)
