This "paper ticket" stuff has become very confusing -- we recently had "paper tickets" for a trip booked on UA that included UA and non-*A segments...but to the average pax they were indistinguishable from an e-ticket printed on old paper stock (rather than thermal paper). Once we had a boarding pass, however, the ticket was irrelevant when it came to security and boarding.
