Both I and my girlfriend were made redundant a couple of weeks ago - I'm moving to Tallinn, Estonia in a few weeks time and my girlfriend is having to move back to her home city of Toronto.

Anyhow - there was a point to this...

I am currently an Aadvantage Gold with approx 28,000 EQM this year, I have signed up for the Double EQM and I was wondering what is the best route from Tallinn to Toronto to this to take advantage of this promotion? Has anyone ever done this route before on Oneworld?

Or will this route just be a complete pain in the ...? I know on Oneworld it most likely will be - so should I bite the bullet and fly Lufthansa because it is only 1 stop and much cheaper (TLL-FRA-YYZ). And IF people think I should fly the Star Alliance route - which FFP would I get the most benefits from in these 2 or 3 trips?

I will most likely do this trip 2 or 3 times before Xmas so any tips/advice would be welcome
