Yes, but just to reiterate thats only for miles--operational upgrades, done without the mileage system, is not automated and the computer doesn't block it. E.g. a 1K on a G or W or any fare, gets the op-up ahead of a 1P on a YUA.

Though I have much to criticize United for, one of the things I think is great about United is how they make Economy Plus free for Premiers. If you're a frequent traveler who can't get into business as often as you'd like, there is no better way to fly coach.
