I'm not a smoker, but I think this is comment is uncalled for. Smoking is legal. The term "drug addict" is universally accepted to mean "people addicted to an illegal drug". To label a smoker a "drug addict" is on par with labeling a coffee-drinker a "drug addict".

(And if you are suggesting that Budget and Avis ban coffee from their cars too....heaven help us.)

That said, I do support the new policy and I think that if someone wants a smoke, they can simply pull over at a rest area or parking lot. I know, easier said than done especially in inclement weather.
