Thanks for the help. I think the language IS contradictory unless you want to argue that you're only allowed to check 20 kg unless you have "sports equipment," in which case it jumps to 50 kg! This won't be an issue for me, however.

I would like some more information about the "metal frame thingy." We have them at US airports, but they're almost completely ignored. Does the Easyjet staff require each customer to insert their luggage into "the thingy"? I'm just trying to get a better idea of how vigilant I need to be about my luggage. I measured 2 pieces yesterday and it seems like a standard rollerboard sold in the US is 22" -- which is just barely more than 55 cm! Also, the typical depth of our rollerboards is about 20 cm -- and that's before you stuff them.

The only extra space we have is on width. Rollerboards tend to be significantly narrower. In Europe, do they sell a suitcase that conforms EXACTLY to Easyjet's standards?
