Thank goodness. I saw this on my last week's rental with Avis, and was very pleased. On occasion over the years, I've had some real stinkers, and more often, have a car that's been smoked in but instead has that counter-agent applied generously - it doesn't smell like smoke, but it's still unpleasant.

Compared to 20 years ago, travel is so much more pleasant: smoke-free airplanes more or less worldwide, smoke-free restaurants in many places, smoke-free bars and clubs in some places, and some smoke-free hotels and car rentals.

I do wish it didn't have to come at the expense of smokers. I have nothing against them - it's just that that habit makes things stink to high heaven and be unpleasant for everyone else. I do like the places where bars and clubs have an outside area to accommodate smokers while leaving the inside with clean air.
