Does anyone else travel to foreign cities, use the underground system by whatever name it is called locally, and then forever afterwards fight against the initial mental image formed by learning the city via underground stops on the local map?
Amazingly, the "real world" does not have stops spaced evenly as shown on the map, and all stops are not directly N/S/E/W of each other, etc. etc.
My own personal bugaboo is Seoul, which I learned via the subway and struggle to get around in above ground as a result.
