Just got the same e-mail a few minutes ago. Although it's not clear if they're dropping Hertz, the deals I'm seeing for Europcar are pretty good. €37 for a rental at no DC status, which assumedly will give 3000 miles working out to 1.2cpm. Now this is only for the one day I need to get to DUB for a MR, but it's an interesting option for building up some miles for upcoming trips.
