If you love to explore, then you have picked the 2 WORST hotels in Hong Kong for that purpose! They are both located where you CANNOT walk to anywhere -- in a city where you can walk everywhere! Both hotels are very isolated from that standpoint, and intended to be hotels where you don't leave (as in go outside). You'd be much better off in Langham Place for example, or any of 100 other hotels. This is a fabulous city for exploring on foot, the streets are filled with people at midnight (at least in the market streets) and perfectly safe. Really a joy to just wander around. But both the W and the IC GS are very isolated, surrounded by several blocks of nothing (different nothing in each case, but really poor locations for a tourist in terms of walking out of the hotel). Do your research and decide what is important before picking these hotels.
