For an award, if the difference is not significant, I usually do it. I might even be inclined to do F on LH on this route depending on the mileage required.
The cost for Y/C/F award is 35/55/80k UA miles. Paid Y tickets are running $500-600, and the award taxes are about $100. So I view it as getting $400-500 of value for 35k miles and upgrading for 10k each way. Going for F doesn't seem worth it. Is this a good use of miles vs. $? Hard to say...

C on both LH and LX (OS too) are true C flights. Seat and catering. It is a shot flight but for many worth it.
OS appears to be running an A321, which SeatGuru says has "Euro C."

Indeed. Does this kind of swap happen a lot? For the dates I'm looking at, the morning flight outbound on LX is a 340 and the evening flight a 320 (and v.v. for the return). Am I taking a big risk if I book the morning flight?
It looks like LH flies only wide-bodies to TLV, so no risk there.
