They were not allowing people to blast through today unless they were carrying nothing at all (and I saw some people try and fail).

Also the China Daily today had a small article that started out saying, "All people and vehicles entering Beijing will be checked from tomorrow (Sept 15) to October 8, in a drive to further guarantee the city's safety during the National Day holiday, Beijing public security bureau announced on Saturday. People entering the city will be required to carry ID cards to be checked around the clock at 200 police checkpoints."

This ain't gonna be a lot of fun....
