I once had a 9 hour delay because of typhoon. It's even on the news. Chaos everywhere in HKG. Got nothing other than an apology email. So 5K, probably good enough.
That said, it really depends on the time / day /situation. If it's overnight, and non-weather related delays, you may deserve more.
