I am in the same boat as you are and received only 7,500 bonus points instead of 10,000 after the first purchase. I saved the adverstiment insert that came with my new card last month that said "Receive 10,000 HH points with the first purchase of your new HH Platinum Card".

Also, I printed a copy from the HH website http://www.hilton.com/en/hhonors/poi...editcard.jhtml that says receive 10,000 bonus points after the first purchase.

I plan to call Amex customer service over the weekend and get an answer.
