Why does 2 seperate stays count as a single stay using 2 reservations
Hello all.

I stayed at Hampton Inn for 2 consecutives nights. The 1st night has a seperate reservation(the company is paying for it), the 2nd night I made a seperate reservation using my own money. I got 2 seperate bills from the hotel. Hilton honors merged my 2 stays as a single stay. I missed out the Platinum requirement plus seperate airline bonus plus the Visa bonus. Called HH and was told that even if seperate reservations they merge them into a single stay.

I would appreciate any comments if it it possible to get this changed.
