I don't even hit 'Archive'... I just mark as read...

I keep them all in case anything were to happen with AS' system... its nice to have a record...

Every year or so I print out all the transaction history too to keep as a permanent record (When I was in a dorm, I posted this massive paper trail on the wall as 'art' )
