I need some advise as we'll be travelling to europe by Royal Caribbean cruise in october. I'm really concerned about Shore Excursions....what should I book through the cruise ship? Are there excursion options at the ports that I can book there? Honestly, we don't want to pay such expensive excursion, plus we like to explore on our own. Rome, florence (livorno), nice (Villefranche) and barcelona are the ports. We'll arrive rome 2 days earlier to explorer and don't need excursion. I heard that florence definitely need to join the excursion, because the port is 1.5 hrs away from the city and far away from Pisa. How about Nice and Barcelona? Can we take a cab to Nice city centre and Monaco? or is cheaper to join excursion?



Would love to know your thoughts and if anyone is going on this cruise too!
