I just read this, but it sounds rather like company propaganda (from
this article):
Since 1996 Sun-Air has flown under the aegis of British Airways, with BA’s characteristic tail livery, airplane numbers and cabin crew in BA uniforms. The fact that the planes belong to Sun-Air is discreetly displayed on the airplane’s nose.
Once in the mid 1990s a couple of British Airways personnel flew with Sun-Air on a Danish domestic flight. The short journey was an eyeopener. They were used to working in an industry which had developed a conveyer belt mentality, but here was Sun-Air treating each passenger as a valued individual. On their return to London they relayed the news to British Airways’ management, and a close cooperation later developed.
“Sun-Air entered a franchise agreement with British Airways, and was the first airline outside the UK to do so,” relates Tvergaard. “The agreement has proved a great benefit, not only to BA and ourselves, but also to our passengers. From being a small regional company we are now a part of the world’s largest airline.
Any other information or perspectives would be appreciated!
