And you can still sometimes pick up QF PE on the BA code at the BA price when the fares haven't been loaded right.

Can more light be thrown on this BA upgrade...I am flying BA PE sydney-london BA10 via BKK. Wont mind paying something to be in their business class. Is extra payable at airport? Would special meal request deny upgrade? I have been told op-ups is almost impossible when pax has specials meals as these cannot readily be improved for higher class.
