Good question...

Having only applied mine to discount Y fares they were clearly treated as Standby...

I might have a look at "da rules" to see if it says what happens when you apply a Complimentary Upgrade to a fare class that an A$ confirmed UG can be requested from.... Interesting.... never thought about it before...

..I suspect however you were hoping for Confirmed from ANY fare class?????
