It is surprising to me how many fairly frequent flyers are too cheap to buy eyeshades and earplugs (and possibly even noise-cancelling headphones). You never know when you are going to get the screaming baby next to you. Earplugs and noise-cancelling headphones will keep you from going crazy (although you will still hear the baby).
