I found The Cliff good, but overpriced for what it was. I suppose you are paying for the ambience there. Having faced a similar choice for a shirt trip last year I ended up ruling out the Far East for the simple reason that by the time you've flown 14 hours to get there you are pretty tired and then have to contend with 8 hours worth of jet lag requiring you to get up at 1am on your body clock or miss most of the day! At least in the Caribbean the time zone change is working for you, although if heading east is an option to be considered Oman has some lovely hotels and isn't too tiring in terms of flights or time changes.
