But all other things being equal, you should know that if a netbook comes with a 1-year manufacturers warranty, Costco will give you a second year free. And then, if you use an AMEX card to charge it (at Costco), they will give you a 3-year warranty.
The best netbook out there right now is the Toshiba N280. You can buy it for $350 at Microcenter or the fancier design for $399.
9 Hour battery life, 280 processor (faster than the standard Atom 270), upgradable memory, built-in webcam, and (depending on where you live) local hardware support. I highly recommend this machine.
I also have the HP Mini. I like the HP but think the Toshiba is a better value.
