This thread is a great example of what I have anecdotally observed over the past 2 years: the only market in which PMUs seem to be useful is with transpac flights. I have no idea why that is, or even if it's statistically "true", but just my $0.02.

It is. Within each upgrade class on DL metal, the DL elites get upgraded before the NW elites. For example: on a DL flight, all DL Plats get upgraded, then NW plats, then DL golds, then NW golds, etc. It's the converse on NW flights (NW elites over DL elites)
