I must admit that I fail to understand why a route and 1:15 departure change is a major issue that deserves a refund.

The ticket could have been booked muti-city, and wasn't. In order to save money.

The ticket to LAX could have been booked on the same paper (I assume), but wasn't. In order to save money.

I do both these myself, but it's a known risk. You take it and lose, well lifes a ......

BTW, 1:45 at LAX for an outbound through Bradley is about 80%. I would pay the change fee on my domestic tic.
