AGR points can be redeemed for movie passes, restaurant gift certificates, department store gift certificates, etc. While there are cards with a somewhat better reward ratio, the 5,000-point bonus may be more significant, especially since you are not expecting to charge a lot for the next couple of years.

And don't assume that a lot of credit-card usage is required to get an annual fee waived for the second year. I got the second-year fee (but not the third-year fee) waived on a Priority Club Visa which had relatively little spend (< $1,000) on it the first year. Of course, your experience might be different. But if you have a higher credit limit on your long-haul card, and a relatively low limit on the annual-fee card, cancelling one annual-fee card should not have a very big effect on your FICO score, especially if your average credit utilization is only ~ $250/ month.
