That is correct but one need to be careful in looking at the numbers.

For instance, say there is 1 available seat in C and 3 available F seats -- you might expect F3C1 but it may be F3C4. In the later case if 2 C seats are sold, the numbers will change to F2C2 -- they will oversell C with the plan to op-up folks to F. So you can not always sum F and C to get the number of available seats. Yet another reason to be cautious in using these numbers.
And there is always mis-connects (which will show as checked-in).

Moral -- don't give up too soon on an upgrade
