Just returned from EDI after watching A380 from top floor of multi-storey carpark. I've seen numerous examples parked or taxiing around the world, but first time actually seen one fly.

I assume it must have done a fly past of Edinburgh before passing right overhead of multi-storey carpark at several hundred feet. It then banked right over the terminal building and staight across the runway and headed off on a long loop out over the Forth before eventually returning to do a mock landing.

It never got lower than height of terminal building before accelarating away and flew level along length of runway with acouple of tips of the wings to the crowd before a quite spectacular climb out heading towards Glasgow.

The most remarkable thing about it was how quiet it is in comparison to a 747, even on a full power climb there was no more than a deep grumble.
