I faced quite an uphill struggle trying to get the agent to make the reservation for me. The agent tried to persuade me to go elsewhere. When that didn't work, the agent mentioned that the tariff office in Dublin will probably not price the ticket. When that also didn't work, the agent simply refused to proceed with the booking. Long story short, I did manage to persuade the agent to finish the booking and this was sent to Dublin to be priced.
Has anyone had similar experiences? I'm not sure if there is anything I could actually do if AA refuse to price my DONE5... Anyone has any good suggestions for actions I should take going forward?
I usually try to make the booking with AA RTW desk and minimize the number of sectors, and load up on NA flights with AA. The last example was YYZ-JFK-SYD-LHR-LAX-SFO-JFK-BGI-JFK-YYZ, where the bulk was AA (except transocean), and they booked it. Then I called back to add segments and change stuff around, and they did it because it was issued by them even though I was dropping a couple of the AA flights.
