I agree with gutt22, it is a good idea to get both Amex and Visa. You'll get a nice sign-up bonus with each. Use the Amex whenever possible, and the Visa everywhere else. Another good reason to keep both cards is that from time to time, Amex and Visa run promotions, so you'll want to be able to participate in those promos when they happen.
