In fact, last flight my colleague which also had an Envoy companion seat was re-routed by mistake and given a middle coach seat on Lufthansa as another F you. I also flew Air NZ and boy was it 100x better than US. Usually it's not the FA's fault - they don't have enough working up front and are usually paired with an incompetent FA with Seniority or they more Senior people force the Junior person to work Envoy since it's more work. Plus a lot of Envoy passengers are pretty mean and snooty (which they partially deserve to be if they paid that much for a ticket).
I view Envoy as getting a warm towel and having a seat with a little more room. Not much else...
If someone is going to be snotty about flying
Envoy they should really consider a reality check. Of course, I've seen more than my fair share of snotty PAX on carriers with a real premium product, but thinking your big stuff flying US across the pond is the same behavior one sees when people flying up front on Airtran think they are the cat's meow.
