You might have your wife check out the new Eagle Creek Hovercraft 2 bags. Nice design and very lightweight. Price is quite a bit less than Vic 4.0 as well.

I like Eagle Creek, too. Very different design philosophy, though, than the super conservative Vic 4.0 series.
I'd actually go rather with Boyt than with Vic because Boyt has a similar warranty to BR and is a bit of a rare brand. I own a Travelpro Plat5 22" roller which is the height of conservative styling and commonness but I love that thing. It is highly functional and very well engineered and made. So styling and brand image is not everything but it does influence my purchase decision. My biased macho mind tells me that for a woman it might do so even more.
