During several visits to the Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu a little over a year ago, I was never able to book a room on line using my SPG Amex Card, it was not listed as an option. However, once I checked in, the property had no problem accepting the Amex card to pay for the room. I pointed out this quirk to them on several occasions but nothing was done about it at the time. That being said, out of curiosity, I just did a quick check and it looks like Amex is now accepted there for room reservations.
