I was visiting San Diego two weeks ago and tried In-N-Out for the first time ever. My expectations were incredibly high as I have several "foodie" friends that love it. It was very disappointing. For some reason the "special sauce" they use just doesn't work for me with the ketchup they put on the top bun. Likewise, I added onion and it was essentially a thick slab of very strong yellow onion--which actually made it difficult to eat. What "ketchup they put on the top bun"? Ketchup is not a standard ingredient on an In-N-Out burger.
