I agree. A traveler (business or not) who can not requalify this year without a double stay promo is much more likely to look elsewhere for a status match while he/she is still a top tier. As a result SPG may lose all future $$$ from that person. Airlines (AA to be more specific) started another round of DEQM so I am sure hotels are not gonna be far behind. For now hotels want to see what september brings and hope to get some revenue but eventually I expect a double stay promo later this year. We'll see.
