Palermo did have his chance in the big leagues in Europe... but he wasnt a hugely impressive performer... thats why he returned so 'early' to play in Argentina. This fact suited Boca Juniors very well as he has certainly been a prime asset for the team here in the national league.... but his performance in Europe, while not a failure, was by no means spectacular. Its no surprise that the top teams in Europe did not book him.... he played for middle of the road teams of the 2-3 European leagues he was involved in... if Im not mistaken he did some time in Italy and then in Spain.
